New, Old Wine from Bencze

We are excited to receive a new sparkling wine from Hungary's finest, Bencze Birtok!

Gemini II 2015

This is a sparkling white wine made in the Champagne style (traditional method) using biodynamic Pinot Noir grapes (Blanc de Blanc). The base wine was fermented in a combination of steel tanks and amphora vessels before being bottled and resting on the lees for no less than 10 years!

It's rich and round but delicate and elegant at the same time. Fresh minerals drive the wine forwards whilst citrus and stone fruits are complimented by brioche notes. Amazing value for a wine this old. Just 5000 bottles produced.

We have also received the 2022 vintage of his rare Kekfrankos (Blaufrankish) as well as top ups of Atlas Pinot Noir 2022, Chenin 2022 and Riesling 2021
