Wine Club 40 Winner
The milestone, 40th round of Highbury Wine Club was a big success with a full house getting to enjoy 6 exciting new arrivals. After all this time, it's still such a pleasure to be able to share wines I love with a crowd like this every month and I hope we have many more nights to come.
I was explaining to drinkers on the night that one of the privileges of working with natural wine is that the wines can vary so much year to year, either because of different climatic conditions or a change of tact by the winemaker. So whilst each year we receive the "same" wines, the wines are never the same. In the natural wine world, we are not looking for consistency and instead always want to experience something new that truly reflects that particular vintage.

Bring forth to the stage, Marto's Manna Rot 2023 which has just recently arrived from Rheinhessen in Germany. We have been selling this wine for many years but it's doesn't change how excited we were to open up the latest release. Pure, balanced and elegant but at the same time, very fun. This is a red and white blend of German grape varieties Blauer Portugieser, Scheurebe and Dornfelder and is singing with a profound pink grapefruit character. This wine won the vote for best tasting bottle of the night and it's an absolute bargain at just £27. Also the perfect choice as we enter the warm months in London. Thank you Marto & Alanna!
The next Wine Club is taking place on Thursday 14th May and you can grab tickets here whilst they last
Happy drinking!
Andrew
