Winemaking: Organic Barbera grapes were hand harvested and fermented in cement tank with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels before being bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: A full bodied wine from an area best known for this Barbera grape. Dark fruits dominate with a hint of something meaty. Best served with food in the colder months.

Notes on the Winemaker: Francesco Pozzobon hails from the Veneto region but now makes natural wine under the name Tenuta Foresto in Nizza Monferrato which is just south of Asti. he was inspired by the methods of Japanese farmer and philosopher Masunobu Fukuoka and aims to have as little impact on the natural ecosystem as possible. We visited in 2022 to try his wines in barrel which are getting better with every vintage. He previously lived in Highbury before heading back to Italy to start his winemaking project.
