Winemaking: Organic Gewurztraminer grapes were harvested by hand. 10 day whole bunch maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Matured on the lees for 20 months in barrel. Bottled with no fining, light filtration and just a small amount of sulphur.

This Wine: Always one of our favourite Riestch cuvées, this is a wine full of finesse. Golden in the glass with aromatic notes of dried rose petals, stone fruits and lychees. A dry expression of the unique Gewurztraminer grape.

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. He has garnered a reputation as a legend in this area and when you try his wines, you'll see why. From rich and complex Riesling to traditional method sparkling wine and skin contact cuvées, his wide range has something for everyone.
